Introduction :
Project Nurture aims to provide safe and nutritious milk powder to newborns who are unable to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is the ideal way to provide newborns with the necessary nutrition for healthy growth and development. However, in certain situations, such as when the mother is unable to breastfeed, milk powder becomes a viable alternative. Our program seeks to ensure that every newborn who requires milk powder receives it promptly and in a safe and appropriate manner. By partnering with healthcare providers and ensuring the quality of the milk powder, we aim to give newborns the best start possible in life. In this proposal, we will outline the objectives, target population, and implementation plan of Project Nurture.

Problem definition :
Breastfeeding is the best way to provide newborn babies with the necessary nutrition they need for healthy growth and development. However, in situations where breastfeeding is not possible or inadequate, it becomes necessary to provide an alternative source of nutrition. In such cases, milk powder is often recommended as an effective substitute for breast milk. This project aims to provide milk powder to newborn babies from rural and semi-urban areas who are unable to produce enough milk to feed their babies or those who cannot afford to buy milk.

Goals and Objectives:

The main objective of this proposal is to provide newborn babies with an alternative source of nutrition in situations where breastfeeding is not possible or inadequate. The specific objectives include:

  • To provide to mothers who are unable to produce enough milk to feed their babies or those who cannot afford to buy milk.
  • To provide a milk powder to mothers residing in rural and semi-urban areas, who belong to economically disadvantaged communities.
  • To ensure that every newborn baby who requires milk powder receives it promptly.
  • To provide high-quality milk powder that is safe and nutritionally adequate for newborn babies.
  • To work with healthcare providers to ensure that milk powder is provided in a safe and appropriate manner.

Providing milk powder for newborn babies is one of the activities that an Maayan trust can undertake to promote newborn child welfare.

The Maayan Trust is committed to distributing milk powder to mothers on a monthly basis. We will provide a minimum of two containers of milk powder each month, which will be tailored to meet the specific nutritional requirements and needs of each newborn baby. Our goal is to ensure that every mother who needs milk powder for her baby can access this vital source of nutrition, regardless of her socio-economic status or geographic location. We believe that by providing this support, we can contribute towards improving the health and well-being of newborn babies and their mothers.

The Maayan trust can work with hospitals and clinics to identify mothers who are in need of assistance and distribute milk powder accordingly. The milk powder can be sourced from reputable manufacturers to ensure that it is safe and meets nutritional standards. Regular follow-ups can be conducted to monitor the progress of the babies and ensure that they are receiving adequate nutrition. The Maayan trust can also provide education and support to mothers on proper feeding practices and the importance of breast milk. Through the provision of milk powder, the Maayan trust can help reduce malnutrition and infant mortality rates in underprivileged communities.
